What is the Moroccan Daff “The Pearl”?

The Pearl is a handcrafted Moroccan frame drum made in Fez, a city known for its sacred artistry. Created in collaboration between House of Fatjma and Pearls Drumming School, it is designed to carry the beats of remembrance — perfect for nasheeds, dhikr and songs of devotion

What materials are used?

Each daff is made using goat skin stretched over tarzaz wood, clothed in Rabati fabric inspired by the black and gold of the cloth of the Kaʿbah and the green and white of the Rawdah.  All materials have been intentionally chosen for the sound and durability.

Which daff should I buy?

If this is your first drum, we recommend the 14inch/6cm drum it’s lightweight, affordable, and has a soft, bright tone that’s easy to play.
The 14inch/8cm drum is a little heavier and has a beautiful rich deeper sound.

Is each daff identical?

No, every daff is handmade, so expect small variations in tone, pattern, and size. These differences are part of the beauty of a handcrafted instrument.

Do you ship outside of the UK?

Yes, we are currently trialing our shipping to the USA and other European countries.. Shipping rates and delivery times will be calculated at checkout based on your location. 

Please note that shipping to the United States has become more costly due to recent tariff and customs fee increases introduced by the U.S. administration. When will I receive my daff?

Orders are usually processed within 3–5 working days, and delivery times vary depending on your location.

  • UK orders: typically arrive within 5–8 days after dispatch.

  • International orders: may take 10–20 days, depending on customs and local delivery services.
    You’ll receive a confirmation email once your daff is on its way.

How should I care for my daff?

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

  • Avoid exposing it to moisture or extreme temperatures.

  • Wipe gently with a dry cloth to remove dust.
    Natural skin may tighten or loosen slightly with weather changes — this is normal.You can tighten your drum with heat.

Price comparison – how does your daff compare to others?

Our daffs are competitively priced given their handmade Moroccan craftsmanship and limited-edition collaboration.
While mass-produced frame drums may cost less, The Pearl offers a unique artisan touch, authentic materials, and genuine intention and story behind its making — qualities rarely found in factory-made drums.

Can I return or exchange my daff?
