Drumming and Nasheed 101 - Beginners
Date: Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September
Time: 7:30pm to 9:00pm (BST)
Cost: £50pp (full weekend) or £30pp for one day.
A one-off weekend intensive taught by Sakinah Lenoir covering our stage one drumming and nasheed course. You will learn 3-4 different rhythms that can be played alongside popular nasheeds in English and Arabic, like Tala al badr alayna and Mawla Ya Salli.
In addition you will receive access to a course pack and recordings of all the rhythms and songs that we will cover in the course. Available for an entire year.
This is a course open to beginners and Ladies from 16 years above
All types of drums are welcome into the space.
Taught and led by Sakinah Lenoir. Sakinah has been playing with her group Pearls of Islam for over 15 years and has 10 years experience in teaching drumming and nasheeds to women and children.

FAQs
Is this class online?
Yes, this class will take place online via Zoom. It will be a group class with a minimum of 5 students. Our classes are not able to go ahead unless there is a minimum of 5 students signed up.
DO you record your classes?
Classes are not recorded, however you will have access to our student portal which includes videos of all the rhythms and songs that you will cover during the course. However our on-demand Drumming and Nasheed 101 course, provides pre-recorded classes for you to enjoy at your own pace in your own time.
Do I need a Drum for the class
Yes, it is recommended for you to have a drum for the session. We welcome all types of drums. A djembe, darbouka or a Daff would be ideal but whichever is easiest for you to access. If you don’t have a drum you can also use a pot lid, celebration tin etc. Get creative! Don’t use it as an excuse not o join us.

DO you offer any discounts?
We are not financially able to offer any discounts as our courses are priced at the bare minimum to ensure accessibility to as many people as possible. However payment plans are available, you can pay in three monthly payments.
What happens once I complete the course?
We have three stages of the Drumming and Nasheed Essential Course. Once you have completed all three stages and have passed your assessment, you will be able to sign up to receive a certification of completion.
