 We are really pleased to announce that we have now offering Online and In Person classed for Ladies and Children. Please download our courses and events schedule for more details.

Take your first step on a journey to singing nasheeds and playing the drum to songs of praise

​

Taught and led by Sakinah Lenoir. Sakinah has been playing with her group Pearls of Islam for over 15 years and has 10 years in teaching drumming and nasheeds. She has taken numerous classes and courses in djembe drumming and is currently studying the darbouka. All courses have been specifically designed to share the unique drumming style of playing by Pearls of Islam and their influences incorporating technique and style from the daff, djembe, and darbouka tradition

- Children classes are open to kids aged between 7 and 12 years old (unless otherwise stated)

- Ladies classes are open to Adults from 18 years and above

- All classes are in (BST) time zone

- Course Material: All students will be given videos, audios, and a lyric pack to help with practice.

- It is advised for you to put aside at least 1 hour in the week to practice in addition to the class.

- Any drum is welcomed in this space ( Daff, Djembe or Darbouka)

Children Summer Intensive Course

Two weeks of fun, singing, and drumming, all in the comfort of your own home. This is an intensive course open to all . 

​

Course TWO: Let's play the drum- Drumming Class

You will learn 3-4 different rhythms that can be played along to various different nasheeds ( English and Arabic)

 

Day 1: A brief introduction to the history of the drum, benefit and tradition, learn basic strokes and how to hold the drum

Day 2: Learn to play along to Madinah Song and some of the Dawud Wharnsby Ali Songs

Day 3: Learn a rhythm that you can play to Qasida Burdah and Ya Noori

Day 4: Learn how to play along to songs such as Ya Imam Rusuli, Ya Hanaana, Qamarun, and more

Day 5: A chance to revise and go over all the rhythms you have learned so far in preparation for your performance

Day 6: Sharing/Performance: Invite your friends and family to watch you play some of the beats and songs that you've learnt in the course

10% discount if booking more than one sibling

 

If there is enough interest we would also be open to putting together a singing only class​

Really excited to announce our summer courses for children! Two weeks of fun, singing, and drumming, all in the comfort of your own home. This is an intensive course open to all aged from 7 to 12 years old. You can choose one course or why not choose both!

Course ONE: Sing the Salawat: Nasheed Class

Learn to sing some of the most popular nasheeds. Both in Arabic and English

 

Day 1: A brief introduction to the history and intention of nasheeds, vocal warm-up exercises, and learn to sing the Madinah Song ( Tala al badru Alayna)

Day 2: Qasidah Burdah

Day 3: Singing with confidence, singing with love: A review of Madinah Song and Qasidah Burdah

Day 4: Beat of My Heart

Day 5: YOU choose the song: ( we sing a song selected and chosen by your team)

Day 6: Sharing/Performance: Invite your friends and family to tune in to watch you and your team sing some of the songs you've learnt

Take your first step on a journey to singing praises and playing the drum to Salawat. This is a beginner's course that will introduce you to the basics of drumming and singing to nasheeds (English and Arabic).

She has taken numerous classes and courses in djembe drumming and is currently studying the darbouka. Lesson one: A brief intro into the history and tradition of drumming and nasheeds, the benefits of drumming and singing, how to hold the drum, what are the main strokes. and learn how to play your first rhythm

​

Lesson Two: Learn to play two rhythms to one of the most well-known nasheeds; Tala al Badru Alayna

​

Lesson three: Learn to play your third rhythm to Qasida Burda

​

Lesson Four: Review the 3-4 rhythms as well as learning to play to other rhythms and layer your beat.

- This course is opened to Ladies only ( 18 and above)

- This course will only go ahead with a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 7

- We are unable to offer any discounts but if anyone is financially struggling, please do get in contact. There are limited donated spaces available

- These sessions are online and live. There will be no recordings available
