Take your first step with us on a journey to singing praises and learning how to "make salawat with your hands" by playing the drum. Each week you are introduced to different rhythms and nasheeds that will equip you with the confidence to play and sing independently
These courses have been specifically designed to teach the unique drumming style of Pearls of Islam and their influences incorporating technique and style from the daff, djembe, and the darbouka tradition
Online and INPERSON course are available.
Course are open to Ladies and Children and are taught by Sakinah Lenoir and Aisha Sanusi.

Online Weekend Intensive Beginners Course
A weekend workshop that will explore the basics of drumming and singing nasheeds in English and Arabic. This is a intensive course that's great for beginners or anyone interested in learning more about different drumming styles and traditions in relation to devotional singing.
There are two options available
Class One: 2:30pm to 4:00pm (GMT)
or
Class Two: 7:30pm to 9:00pm ( GMT)
Spaces are limited
Open to 16 years and over
Date: Saturday 11th March and Sunday 12th March
Time: 1pm to 3pm

£25 per person for both days

Join us for our first workshop of the new year! A drumming and nasheed workshop open to all ( brothers and sisters).

One to one sessions are also available on Monday's anytime between 11:30am and 7pm ( GMT)

Rhythms of Remembrance
Conversations on the Daff, Qasida and Sacred Sound
A three part series looking at the tradition of the Daff ( frame drum) Qasida ( devotional poetry and song), sacred sound and silence as tools of healing, praise and remembrance of the Divine.

Ramadan Online Drumming & Nasheed Circle 2022
Join us for our annual Ramdan drumming circle as we connect together around the world to drum and sing praises. It will be a chance for you to recap some of the songs from stage one and stage two.
You must have completed at least one course at the Pearls of Islam drumming school in order for you to join the circle. This is a circle only open to current/former students.
We invite you to come with your drum, your voice, and the stage one/two pack.
This is a free gathering but donations are welcomed with open hands.

Join us for our drumming and nasheed jamming circle, taking place once a month. This is open to anyone who has previously taken a course or class at Pearls of Islam Drumming School.

Children Drumming and Nasheed Course
A 4-week introduction to the basics of drumming and singing nasheeds in English and Arabic. This is a course that's great for beginners. An engaging, fun, and lively course that will encourage your child to pick up the drum and sing praises.
When: Sundays at 4 pm ( GMT)
Cost: 50pp
Duration: 4 weeks ( 1 hour per session)
Where: Online ( Zoom)
Ladies Drumming and Nasheed Course
A 4-week introduction to the basics of drumming and singing nasheeds in English and Arabic.
Lesson one: A brief intro into the history and tradition of drumming and nasheeds, the benefits of drumming and singing, how to hold the drum, what are the main strokes. and learn how to play your first rhythm
Lesson Two: Learn to play two rhythms to one of the most well-known nasheeds; Tala al Badru Alayna
Lesson three: Learn to play your third rhythm to Qasida Burda
Lesson Four: Review the 3-4 rhythms as well as learning to play to other rhythms and layer your beat.
